(side note: this musing really has nothing to do with Chris above, but I’ll drop a link at the bottom with some more information for you cool kids who stay and read)
Hit the gym.
Grab a latte from that place you love.
Carry on about your day.
Yadda yadda yadda.
Whether you realize it or not, you are a creature of habit.
Lately, I’ve been practicing mindfulness meditation, and I’ve come to realize that there are lots of things in my life that I have unintentionally given up ownership of over the years.
Art Everyday, is helping me regain that.
For a long time I sat idly by as my life kind of happened. I fell into a pretty deep rut.
I wasn’t satisfied with work, and it took a lot of courage to take the first step towards creating happiness for myself.
After a while I realized that the change, while exciting(!) and fun(!!) really didn’t help me find happiness outside of being a distraction.
Back to step one.
It’s a process. It can be exceedingly difficult.
But that’s okay.
I’ve found mindfulness to help quite a bit in that regard.
Regaining agency in my day/life/experience has helped me creatively, and spiritually, and has started to seep into every facet of my life.
It’s really great stuff.
Okay that’s enough of a digression.
I brought up habits and routines because I met Chris here at Vigilante Coffee yesterday, making him the third subject of Art Everyday shot in or around that lovely place.
He is Bassappella.
The best way I could describe it is funky coffee shop ambient aesthetic. Like everything warm and comfortable you feel imagine sitting down with that latte from that place you love. But in your ears.
Also, here’s a cute lil jade bonsai baby to zen up your day.
