Say hello to Sean, in this episode of Art Everyday!
Let me set the stage.
So I was waiting to hear from a PR rep about a sold out show for weeks. Weeks!
The morning of the show, I was told that I had a spot lined up for the gig.
The DC area was recuperating from a “snow storm,” and the area was in a general frenzy.
Of course I had to make my way into the city, and fight for street parking.
Eventually I find a spot (yay).
I parallel park (double yay).
And I hop out of my car.
At the same time, a see Sean walking down the street.
The sun was setting, and I saw his high top fade glistening.
I knew I had to make a portrait.
Of course I do this in my own awkward fashion.
I yell across the street, “Hey man, can I take your photo?”
As I walked over, I explained that he had an awesome fade and honestly I needed a photo of it.
He obliged, and asked me what to do. I told him to “just do you.”
I should probably give more direction.
If I could, I would have loved to have not had my shadow in the shot, but thats part of the fun with these impromptu shoots. We’re both part of these photos, even if I’m not in any of them.
I took this with my friends borrowed x100s, and this is a raw conversion straight out of the camera.
Shots from the show? You can take a peek at those here 🙂
